The American Car Rental Association (ACRA) has added four new members to its board of directors: William Plamondon, Bob Stuart, Michael DeLorenzo and Monty Merrill.

William Plamondon currently serves as president of Advantage Rent a Car. Prior to joining Advantage, he held the position of president and CEO of R.I. Heller & Co LLC. In 1978, Plamondon began his career at Budget Rent a Car in franchise development and was named president of Budget in 1992.

Bob Stuart is the executive vice president of global sales for The Hertz Corp. Stuart joined Hertz in 2007 after serving in various senior level marketing and sales positions at General Electric. Prior to joining GE, he held senior marketing and sales positions at Halex and Philips Lighting companies.

Michael DeLorenzo serves as the executive vice president of NextCar, Priceless and Rent-A-Wreck franchise systems, which has 185 locations. With 45 years of rental car experience, he opened his first car rental location as a Budget franchisee in Washington, D.C., in 1969. After expanding to four locations and 300 rental cars, he sold the franchise in 1985.

Monty Merrill is the president of Clearwater Transportation. In 1983, he started working with Budget Rent a Car in Orlando. He held various positions at Budget, National and Thrifty Car Rental, including running the U.S. franchise sales department. Merrill purchased his first Thrifty franchises in Austin and San Antonio in 2001. He acquired a Dollar/Thrifty franchise in Killeen, Texas, in 2007 and a Hertz franchise in San Angelo, Texas, in 2014.
