Through a partnership with E-Car Club and wind farm operators, a fleet of nine electric Renault ZOEs and one Kangoo Van ZE are now available for carsharing in the Scottish town of Stornoway, according to a report by FleetWorld.

The vehicles will be powered almost entirely by renewed energy as a new wind farm opens at the Pentland Road Wind Farm, according to the report.

“This is an exceptionally exciting project combining shared e-mobility with renewable power generation in what is undoubtedly a landmark sustainable transport project both in Scotland and around the world,” Chris Morris, managing director of E-Car Club, told FleetWorld.

The Renault Zoe can be rented for 5.50 pounds per hour or 45 pounds per day, while the Kangoo van is available for 7.50 pounds per hour or 60 pounds per day. Power and insurance are included.
