General Motors is recalling 2,988 2015 model-year Chevrolet Colorado and GMC Canyon pickup trucks because a poor electrical connection within the steering gear connector may cause a loss of power steering assist, the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration reported.
The Chevrolet Colorado trucks were manufactured from Jan. 6 to March 17 in 2015. The GMC Canyon trucks were built around the same time, from Jan. 6 to March 19 in 2015.
GM dealers will replace the steering gear pinion sensor cover assembly, free of charge, to resolve the problem. Truck owners can reach Chevrolet customer service at (800) 222-1020, or GMC customer service at (800) 462-8782. GM’s number for this recall is 15595.
