German carmaker Daimler has launched its car2go carsharing service in China’s Chongquing municipality, according to a report by China Daily.

This is car2go’s first city in the Asian market, says the report. The service allows users to access the smart fortwo vehicles via a mobile app.

Sam Guo, chief operating officer of car2go China Co., told China Daily that 400 smart fortwo vehicles will be available for carsharing in Chongquing.

If the carsharing company is successful, car2go is planning to add more vehicles and launch in more cities, according to the report.
