Zipcar has announced it will launch a floating carsharing service in Brussels. This will mark the seventh major country launch for the brand in Europe and the introduction of its flexible carsharing service.

Zipcar's floating service is expected to be available in Brussels starting Sept. 14. It will allow members to pick up and drop off a Zipcar at any location within a set geographical area, according to the company.

Zipcar members will have access to a fleet of Peugeot 208 vehicles, a car with low emissions and room for up to five people.

"The launch of our floating service in Brussels will mark the introduction of our most flexible car-sharing service to date,” said Nicholas Cole, Zipcar’s international president. “Having successfully operated a round trip service around the globe for the last 16 years, we pride ourselves on our ability to innovate and lead growth in the sector. With global carsharing members set to increase from 2.4 million in 2014 to 23.4 million by 2024, we are proud to offer a range of services that are tailored to meet the mobility needs of cities around the world."
