Andrew C. Taylor, Enterprise Holdings’ executive chairman, received the Entrepreneurial Spirit Award, presented by Enactus USA.

Taylor received the award at the Partner Recognition Ceremony held during the Enactus United States National Expo in St. Louis.

“The Entrepreneurial Spirit Award is presented to individuals who exemplify the transformative power of the entrepreneurial spirit,” said Alex Perwich, president, Enactus United States. “Andy embodies this philosophy and is an inspiration to younger generations. He is a shining example of the good that can be accomplished when people apply their talents, passions, and ideas to achieve success in business while enabling greater progress for people around the world.”

Taylor, whose father Jack Taylor founded the business in 1957, began his career washing cars for Enterprise at age 16. After earning his bachelor’s degree, he became general manager of Enterprise Rent-A-Car’s St. Louis regional operations. He was promoted to president and chief operating officer in 1980 and then moved up to Chief Executive Officer in 1991. He became chairman in 2001 and executive chairman in 2013.

Enterprise has recruited new talent from the annual Enactus United States National Expo, which brings together a national network of students, academic, and business leaders.

“Enterprise has worked with Enactus as a strategic recruitment partner for 15 years,” said Taylor. “Enactus helps college students develop the leadership and critical thinking skills we are looking for when hiring talented, college-educated individuals into our management training program.”
