Lyft riders can now schedule their rides up to seven days in advance, according to a recent Lyft blog report. The feature is currently available in San Francisco and Washington D.C., and will expand to more cities soon.

Lyft users can select a 10-minute pickup window up to seven days in advance, according to the report. Then the Lyft driver will arrive within that scheduled window.

When a user schedules a ride, Lyft will predict what Prime Time will look like and lock in the rate, according to the report. That way, even if Prime Time increases, the user won’t have to pay more.

And if a driver cancels in case of an emergency, Lyft will immediately send another driver out, says the report. And if your plans change, you can update or cancel your scheduled ride up to 30 minutes before your requested time free of charge. After that, there’s a $10 cancellation fee.
