Car rental company Selfdrive.In has announced it plans to launch in the UAE in early January 2017. Based in  Pune, India, Selfdrive.In will expand its operations to Dubai with a fleet of 1,500 cars.

Founder Soham Shah told the Press Trust of India, he hopes to grow Selfdrive.In to be the third largest car rental company in the UAE following Avis and Hertz.

After launching with 1,500 cars, Selfdrive.In plans to double its fleet within two years. Shah is investing approximately $1.4 million in the operation and is expecting a revenue of $5.4 million.

Selfdrive.In first launched in 2010 and is set to expand to Delhi, Bengaluru, Chennai and Hyderabad by the first quarter of 2017.
