Europcar Group has announced the acquisition of Italian-based carsharing company GuidaMi.

Through Ubeeqo, a mobility company under Europcar, this will be the sixth market where Ubeeqo offers its carsharing and mobility services.

“Milan is one of Europe’s most dynamic cities in the field of mobility solutions providing an alternative to private cars,” said Ubeeqo Co-Founder Benoît Chatelier. “We are glad, through this acquisition, to position Ubeeqo in this promising market with the same ambition we have in other cities: providing businesses and individuals with a groundbreaking alternative to car ownership and encourage those who still own cars to sell them.”

GuidaMi has over 150 vehicles available in Milan with designated parking spots within the city.

Europcar’s Ubeequo currently operates in France, Belgium, Germany, the United Kingdom, and Spain. Ubeeqo will offer its mobility services — such as car rental and taxi/chauffeur service — in addition to carsharing, according to Europcar.
