Lyft has partnered with the National Federation of the Blind, which advocates for the advancement of the blind and low vision community, according to a report by Lyft.

For many passengers with vision disabilities, transportation options are limited. By working with the National Federation of the Blind, Lyft is helping to increase awareness of blind passengers’ rights and expand transportation options for those who are blind or low vision, says the report.

Lyft has made its app more accessible to blind passengers by working with the National Federation of the Blind’s access technology staff. Lyft is also helping to educate the public and policymakers on the importance of access to transportation and how ride hailing can improve the lives of blind passengers, according to the report.

With the help of the federation, Lyft has also updated its service animal policy for rides to provide instructions for drivers so they can offer comfortable rides to blind and low vision passengers, says the report.
