A 70-year-old man has been accused of keeping a rental car for nearly three years, according to a report by The Middletown Press.

Jacques Allouf has been charged with first-degree and second-degree larceny, according to the report. Property crimes Sgt. Sean Scanlan said investigator Richard Vetter was contacted by the National Insurance Crime Bureau while investigating a 2013 Nissan Altima stolen vehicle claim from Hertz.

Allouf rented the vehicle on Christmas Eve 2014 at T.F. Green Airport in Warwick, R.I., says the report. Vetter traced the car and found Allouf getting into the vehicle. Vetter said Allouf owned $793 for each month he kept the vehicle, totaling $25,344, according to the report.
