A Peugeot dealership in the U.K. is being slapped with a 5,000 pound ($6,998) fine for failing to disclose the car was previously owned by rental company Europcar, Motor Trader reported.

The Gateshead Robins & Day Peugeot dealership, located near Newcastle, informed the buyer that the car had one previous owner. Upon closer look at the registration, the owner discovered the vehicle was previously leased to Europcar Group U.K., and that it had multiple users.

The dealership was prosecuted by the Gateshead Council Trading Standards under the Consumer Protection from Unfair Trading Regulations and ordered to pay a 5,000 pound ($6,998) fine plus an addition 500 pound ($699) fee. The dealership also had to pay the customer 1,000 pounds ($1,399) in compensation.
