South Korea-based carsharing startup Socar has launched in Malaysia, marking its first overseas expansion according to an article by Digital News Asia.

The Socar fleet in Malaysia consists of 240 vehicles in the Klang Valley. Vehicles include the Perodua Axia, Honda City, Honda HR-V and Mini Cooper, which are all available to rent by the hour. All vehicles use a keyless system that allows users to book and unlock a car through the app.

Socar launched in 2011 and operates about 9,000 cars with more than 3.4 million users throughout South Korea.
