Saudi Arabia’s Ministry of Labor and Social Development is set to follow through with the Saudization of jobs in car rental offices, the Saudi Gazette reports.
All positions in car rental offices must be held by Saudi citizens by Sunday, as part of an ongoing nationalization of the country’s workforce.
The ministry’s spokesperson told the news outlet that his agency has been providing job training and rehabilitation to Saudis as part of the transition; it will also provide technical and financial support to young Saudis who want to open their own businesses.
Car rental offices that employ non-citizens will be heavily fined, with increasing fines for each additional violation.
