The Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board (LTFRB) in Philippines expanded its accreditation of transport network vehicle service companies, such as taxi-hailing and ridesharing services.

Interaksyon reports that the move comes as ridesharing company Grab faces criticism for increasing prices and establishing an industry monopoly following the departure of Uber from the Philippines.

The LTFRB has accredited five companies: taxi-hailing services MiCab and HirNa; and ridesharing services OWTO, GoLag, and Hype.
