Hertz Asia Pacific has partnered with Make-A-Wish Foundation as part of an ongoing initiative to help make wishes come true for children and teenagers with life-threatening illnesses.

The company will be providing families travelling as part of their child's wish with free of charge (FOC) rental vehicles, across six countries in Asia Pacific.

"We are thrilled that Hertz's support will help provide life-altering wish experiences for children across Asia Pacific," Jon Stettner, president and CEO of Make-A-Wish International, said in a statement. "We know these wishes forever change the lives of the wish children and families involved, and they would not be possible without the generosity of donors and supporters like Hertz."

Along with providing FOC rental vehicles to families in need, the regional partnership will see Hertz activate a series of fundraising and donation initiatives over the course of the year.

Make-A-Wish was established in 1980 in the United States and now operates in over 50 countries globally, including Australia, New Zealand, Singapore, South Korea, Japan, and China, the six Hertz countries included in this Asia Pacific initiative.

The foundation transforms the lives of children battling life-threatening medical conditions through the power of a "wish" — to give them hope for the future, strength to face the challenges of their illness and joy from their incredible wish experience.

Each day, hundreds of families across the region receive the news that their child has a serious illness, which means there are thousands of sick children who need the healing power of a wish each year. Since its humble beginnings, Make-a-Wish in Asia Pacific has brought more than 70,000 wishes to life and grants 2000 wishes to children and teenagers with life-threatening medical conditions each year.
