Jim Tennant, founder of the Tennant Group, and Seth Buechley, chairman and CEO of Cathedral Consulting announced Cathedral’s acquisition of the Tennant Group Roundtable practice serving the auto rental industry.

Doug Moore, director of Cathedral's Automotive Practice, and a previous long-term member of the Tennant Group Roundtable, will oversee Roundtable operations. Moore currently oversees several of Cathedral’s auto industry performance groups serving members with dealership, leasing, and daily rental car and truck operations.

“We’re honored to have the opportunity to add this rental performance group to our Competitive Edge offering,” said Seth Buechley, CEO of Cathedral. “I know that Doug will leverage his executive experience in the vehicle daily rental and auto leasing industry to maintain the same high level of services Tennant Group Roundtable members have come to expect. Our growing team at Cathedral is fully on-board with making this a smooth transition.”

Cathedral Consulting facilitates what the auto industry has called “Dealer 20 Performance Groups,” allowing independent automotive leasing, and now, rental business leaders, to share operating results, best practices and ideas in a non-competitive environment. In addition to detailed analytics, members receive customized financial and operational composites to compare their own operations against group benchmarks.

Many members have been active in Cathedral's performance groups for decades, citing their involvement as a key factor in their success and pro-active business succession planning.

“We’re committed to help our members maximize the opportunities that come from being a part of Cathedral’s automotive practice,” said Lori Tennant, co-founder of the Tennant Group. She will be at the Cathedral/Tennant Group Meeting Nov. 4-6 in Delray Beach, Fla., and is helping to plan the Napa, Calif., 2019 meeting.

Buechley said the group is actively seeking new car rental operators to join.
