With the United Kingdom set to leave the European Union (EU) at the end of October, the Foreign Office has issued warnings to U.K. citizens regarding rental cars.

According to the Daily Express, if the U.K. leaves the EU without a deal on Oct. 31, Britons who rent a car in the EU or European Economic Area (such as Iceland or Norway) may need to obtain an International Driving Permit (IDP) in order to drive.

“There are three types of IDP," the Foreign Office told the news agency. "Check that you have the correct permits covering all countries where you will be driving — you may need more than one IDP.”
