A man driving a pickup truck crashed though the security gates of Sarasota-Bradenton International Airport around 2:30 a.m.. Thursday and then drove across the air carrier ramp before plowing though a cinder block wall in the baggage claim area.
Fox 13 reports the truck was traveling over 100 mph when it plowed though the baggage carrousel and stopped after smashing into the counter shared by Alamo Rent-A-Car and National Car Rental. Luckily, the two employees at the counter were not injured.
Authorities are investigating the driver.
