About 4,000 rental cars are temporarily being stored at the Del Mar, Calif., Fairgrounds, as rental car companies see a decline in bookings.

The Rancho Santa Fe Review reports that the vehicles being stored belong to Alamo, Enterprise and National Car Rental. The fairgrounds, which has 7,000 parking spots, received the vehicles under three separate 30-day contracts totaling $70,000.

The Del Mar Fairgrounds isn't the only temporary storage facility for rental vehicles during the COVID-19 pandemic. Baseball stadiums, including the Anaheim Angels and L.A. Dodgers, are being used as well.
