Ryder System, Inc. and Ryder Truck Rental, Inc. brought suit in federal court in Miami, Fla. to enjoin Donald C. Kelley, the company’s former vice president of operations, from soliciting customers, recruiting employees and utilizing Ryder’s confidential information.

In an Order dated November 29, 1999, Federal Judge Patricia A. Seitz enjoined Kelley and his new company, Kelley Fleet Services, from soliciting Ryder’s customers, recruiting Ryder’s employees and utilizing Ryder’s proprietary information. Kelley and Kelley Fleet Services were also required to pay Ryder an undisclosed amount of money and refrain from disparaging Ryder.
