As part of an aggressive growth plan, Budget Rent a Car International, Inc. recently acquired Jasmor Rent a Car of the U.K. At the time of the purchase, Jasmor was operating more than 2,400 vehicles at 14 locations.

Susan Welty, director of public relations for Budget says that since Jasmor’s fleet is about 95% Ford vehicles and the average Budget fleet is about 65% Ford vehicles, the acquisition is a very good fit.

Prior to the acquisition, Budget operated 126 locations with a fleet of 13,600 vehicles, but with the addition of Jasmor, Budget now operates 140 car rental locations with a fleet of more than 16,000 vehicles in the U.K.

According to Welty, the majority of Jasmor employees will be absorbed and kept by Budget. However, she says some management positions may overlap with already staffed positions.
