ST. PAUL, Minn. -- The Minnesota Senate on March 13 passed a $370 million stadium-funding bill that permits a $1.50 per-day surcharge on all vehicle rentals in the city where the stadium will be built. Plans call for the sports venue, which will host the Minnesota Twins, to be built in either St. Paul or Minneapolis. The bill also calls for a portion of the car rental tax monies to go toward the local airport commission's efforts to mitigate airport noise.

Another stadium bill, which does not include a car rental tax, has been introduced in the Minnesota Assembly.
