PARSIPPANY, N.J. -- Avis Rent A Car System Inc. today announced the company's appointment to the Women's Business Enterprise National Council's (WBENC) fourth annual listing of America's Top Corporations for Women's Business Enterprises. The 2002 list recognizes the "elite eight" corporations that not only have instituted programs to offer equal access for women-owned suppliers, but also have met quality standards in their supplier diversity programs featuring women's business enterprises.

In addition, Avis received the 2002 "Outstanding Corporation of the Year" award, presented by the Women Presidents' Educational Organization (WPEO). The plaque presented to Lynn Boccio, vice president of supplier business alliances for the Cendant Car Rental Group, recognizes the company's continued support in training and assisting women-owned businesses.

"Avis is proud to receive each of these acknowledgments," Boccio said. "Avis embraces diversity and is committed to enhancing opportunities for women's business enterprises."
