HARRISBURG, Pa. -– Pennsylvania state legislators adjourned for the year Nov. 21 without taking action on a transit-funding proposal calling for new car rental taxes.

The proposal sought to help finance the Southeastern Pennsylvania Transportation Authority (SEPTA) along with public transit in Pittsburgh.

Proposed by Rep. Dwight Evans (D-Philadelphia), the transit funding package had drawn the backing of Pennsylvania Gov. Edward G. Rendell.
