PHOENIX -- This winter, Avis will help drive children's wishes into the new year through its "Wish List" campaign honoring the Make-A-Wish Foundation's 25th anniversary. When customers donate $25 or more, Avis will reward them with a coupon good for up to $35 off a weekend or weekly rental of a premium, luxury or minivan.

Avis will send out an e-mail to more than 300,000 customers, urging them to donate at least $25 through www.avis.com/wish from Dec. 15 to March 31, 2005. The discount coupons can be used to rent such vehicles as the Cadillac DeVille and Buick LeSabre, which come equipped with free XM Satellite Radio.

In addition, Avis will make a matching donation of up to $50,000 in rental car credits for the first $50,000 raised. The rental credits are used by Make-A-Wishâ chapters throughout the U.S. to subsidize the cost of travel wishes.

"We are grateful to Avis and its customers for this wonderful holiday gift," said Paul Velaski, interim CEO of the Make-A-Wish Foundation of America. "Such generous support of the Make-A-Wishâ mission helps us grant the wishes of courageous children, enriching their lives with hope, strength and joy."

"Through our partnership with the Make-A-Wish Foundation, we can demonstrate our very strong commitment to the children and their families by helping to make their wishes come true," said Scott Deaver, executive vice president of marketing for Avis."

Avis has provided more than $1 million of free and steeply discounted rentals to Make-A-Wish families in need of transportation. The Make-A-Wish Foundation grants the wishes of children with life-threatening medical conditions. It is the largest wish-granting charity in the world, with 74 chapters in the United States and its territories and 28 international affiliates on five continents.
