TULSA, Okla. -- Dollar Thrifty Automotive Group has acquired the Thrifty Car Rental operations in New Orleans and Baton Rouge, La. The acquisitions include in-terminal locations at the New Orleans Louis Armstrong International Airport and the Baton Rouge Metropolitan Airport.

Terms of the purchase were not disclosed.

"We currently operate the Dollar brand corporately at the New Orleans Airport," said Jay Foley, senior executive vice president of corporate operations. "Adding the Thrifty brand will allow us to expand our customer base in New Orleans and better support the city's growing tourism and strong corporate and convention business. The Baton Rouge location will certainly complement our New Orleans operation. In addition to its major universities and growing business center, Baton Rouge is located less than 70 miles from New Orleans, providing DTG with a stronger business presence in this popular area of Louisiana."

DTG said it has completed approximately 70% of its franchise acquisition program in just over two years.
