INDIANAPOLIS --- ACE Rent A Car Reservations announced it has fully implemented support for the OpenTravel Alliance (OTA) standard. OTA is the emerging standard for business-to-business communication in the travel industry, allowing travel partners to communicate quickly and reliably across the Internet without the high costs of legacy travel networks.

"ACE has a long tradition of innovation, being one of the first chains, regardless of size, to fully implement seamless connectivity and total pricing on the Sabre and Worldspan networks," said Richard Radzis, president of ACE Rent A Car Inc. "We are continuing that tradition by becoming one of the first car chains to fully implement the OTA standard."

The OTA support is built upon ACE's OnniQuote software engine, which ACE designed earlier in 2005 to replace all of its legacy reservation quotation engines.

"By adding OTA to our existing OmniQuote engine and RezPower management system, ACE affiliates and chaincode partners are able to instantaneously control their electronic presence across legacy and emerging networks with a single point of control, and do so anytime, anywhere on the Internet," said Craig Parmerlee, director of business development.

This new software is highly scalable to meet the connectivity needs of all Internet-based travel partners. In addition to supporting the basic quotation and confirmation services, the new ACE technology also collects and organizes a comprehensive database of market intelligence that can reveal consumer buying trends, agent preferences and many other factors.

ACE's OTA system is now in production with several travel partners, the company said.

ACE has developed and operated global reservation networks in support of its affiliate base since 1986. The company provides technology solutions for its affiliates and chaincode partners.
