Frist Calls for Hearings on Fuel Profits

WASHINGTON D.C. -- Senate Majority Leader Bill Frist (R-Tenn.) last week called for hearings to answer questions about the oil industry's record profits at a time of rising fuel costs.

Details of the hearings will be forthcoming. According to the Los Angeles Times, Frist asked the Senate Energy and Natural Resources Committee and the Commerce, Science and Transportation Committee to hold the hearings jointly.
