SANTA CLARA, Calif. -- SideStep, Inc., the traveler's search engine, is partnering with Amazon.com in an agreement that will allow Amazon customers to organize travel plans through the Amazon Web site.

The travel search engine will be attached to the Amazon.com travel store beginning in early 2006. SideStep searches sites for airlines, hoteliers, and rental car companies, and online agencies and consolidators, connecting consumers to travel providers' sites to make reservations.

Market research firm PhoCusWright forecasts that U.S. online leisure/unmanaged business travel bookings will grow from $65 billion in 2005 to $94 billion in 2007.
