The Coweta Airport Authority is considering a proposal from Enterprise Rent-A-Car, which is seeking to operate a station on-site at Newnan-Coweta Airport, according to The Times-Herald (Newnan, Ga.).

Enterprise Regional Sales Manager Heather Pastrick and Matt Sawyer, Enterprise branch manager for the Newnan office, approached the authority with a plan for the airport station.

Newnan-Coweta Airport currently has an Avis station at the airport, reports The Times-Herald, but the cars are brought to the location from the Atlanta area. Because of the distance, the airport has to book the cars ahead of time. Enterprise would service the airport from the Newnan location, which is only five to seven minutes away, enabling the airport to obtain cars on short notice.

Enterprise would provide cars on-site as needed and manage the cars, including cleaning and fueling, representatives said. The company would also manage all contracts and perform all credit card transactions. Newnan-Coweta Airport is currently responsible for developing contracts and cleaning and fueling cars provided by Avis.

In addition, Enterprise would provide the airport with staff during high traffic instances. Newnan-Coweta airport would receive a 10 percent commission on all rentals. Crew and pilots would receive a discount on car rental services.

Enterprise has proposed for the company to only offer services to Fixed Based Operator (FBO) customers and aviation customers. The airport's current agreement with Avis allows the airport to have land and air customers. A concessionaire's agreement would be developed between Newnan-Coweta Airport and Enterprise if the authority approves the plan.
