There has been recent complaints that the new consolidated rental car facility at Kansas City International Airport is not customer-friendly for those who live in town, The Kansas City Star reports.

A KCI spokesperson says most rental car customers at the airport are from outside the metro area therefore airport road signage is geared that way at KCI and most other U.S. airports.

But while inbound road signs reads “rental car return,” KCI says the place to go for all car renters is the same — the consolidated rental car facility.

However, the rental car consortium that operates the $90 million facility recently decided to change the directional signage at the visitor parking area to better serve those who rent locally once they arrive at the site.

According to The Kansas City Star, each rental car company has the option to provide additional parking within its lots and directional signs at its entrances for local renters.
