In an effort to enhance the efficiency of operations at Palm Springs International Airport and bring a higher level of service to the traveling customer, the city council has agreed to expand the rental car facilities at the airport, according to the Desert Sun.

The council agreed to put out the bid for the $1.1 million expansion project that is expected to nearly double the size of existing facilities, making it easier for travelers to pick up and return their cars.

The City Council recognizes that car-rental companies at the airport are very important to the overall function and level of service to the traveler, said City Manager David H. Ready, adding that this project will provide more efficient service to car-rental tenants and ultimately the customer.
