A $2-a-day rental car tax brought $1 million in revenue to Allegheny County, Penn., Treasurer John Weinstein said in a Pittsburgh Tribune-Review article. This, combined with a 10 percent drink tax, netted $8.3 million in the first quarter of 2008. Weinstein estimates the county will receive up to $40 million this year from these taxes. They were enacted to help fund the Port Authority of Allegheny County.
