A rental car worker in San Diego was carjacked on Sept. 5, and the suspect got away in the vehicle. A manager who tried to intervene was injured, according to television station San Diego 6.

A male suspect forced his way into the black four-door 2006 Suzuki Forenza sedan at a Payless car rental agency, according to police. The suspect, described as sporting a military-style haircut and mustache, pulled a knife on a female employee who was sitting in the vehicle at about 8:20 a.m. The vehicle had just been returned to the agency, and the driver pulled the victim out of the driver’s seat.

Using the open car door as a weapon, the suspect inflicted minor injuries to a male manager who came to help. The carjacker then drove away in the stolen vehicle.

Another employee attempted to chase the suspect in a car, but could not catch him.
