The union representing workers at Hertz Rental Cars in Vancouver, Canada, says it has notified the company of a possible strike that could begin Friday morning – and continue during the 2010 Winter Olympics – according to the Globe and Mail.

COPE 378 said the possible strike would be largely limited to Vancouver International Airport, downtown locations, and some satellite locations in hotels. The union said Tuesday that talks, which began in the summer, have broken off.

Union spokeswoman Lori Winstanley said the chief areas of disagreement are on job security clauses, and company proposals to have employees shoulder certain expenses, including the purchase of uniforms.
