Sixt, a European car rental company, quickly responded to flight cancellations stemming from the volcanic activity in Iceland by helping its customers with additional vehicles.

Sixt temporarily expanded its European fleet by up to 2,000 vehicles. The car rental company directed these additional vehicles to airports so that stranded passengers could get to their destinations. The company said it offered customers one-way rental prices.

Sixt’s rental fleet consists of small and mid-sized cars, as well as vehicles from the larger classes from all the standard manufacturers. Sixt has nearly 2,000 service stations, including branches at every commercial airport and other major traffic hubs, throughout Europe. For more information, visit www.sixt.com.
