The British Vehicle Rental and Leasing Association (BVRLA) posted in its Jan. 9 newsletter that thieves have targeted vehicles with keyless entry systems in the London area, at least two of them Range Rovers out of the four incidents.

One BVRLA rental member reported that a customer made an electronic copy of the key and fitted a tracking device to the car so it could be located later, entered using the duplicate key and then stolen.

These incidents were reported on the BVRLA's online RISC system, which allows BVRLA members to report thefts and frauds to alert other members.
