The United Kingdom’s Department of Transportation announced Jan. 17 that the plug-in car grant has been extended to plug-in vans as well. Buyers purchasing a qualifying vehicle under the grant program can receive a 20% percent incentive toward the cost of the vehicle — up to a maximum of £8,000.

The funding, available until 2015, is for ultra-low emissions vehicles and must be able to reach a speed of at least 50 mph. To find out more about van eligibility and program criteria, click on the URL: http://www.dft.gov.uk/topics/sustainable/olev/plug-in-van-grant/
