UK-based car rental company 2T’s Rental is reporting a strong demand for car rental during the 2012 Olympic Games in London, according to a Jan. 24 press release. The majority of the events take place in the capitol, and tourism to the city is expected to reach unprecedented highs during and after the games.

Since the 17 days of the Olympic Games already coincide with school summer holidays, which is a peak time for car rental, the extra demand is expected to put pressure on popular locations. 2T’s Rental recommends booking now for London sites, such as Heathrow Airport, to avoid escalating prices or rental car shortages.

Gatwick and Stansted locations, however, are preparing to support London’s primary transport hub.

Some renters may find it easier to collect a car in other British cities, such as Weymouth and Manchester. 2T’s Rental, for example, allows cars collected at one 2T location to be returned at another.
