The Massachusetts Port Authority (Massport) approved on Feb. 16 a rolling five-year program of more than $1 billion to fund 340 projects, according to a Massport press release. The largest initiative is the construction of a consolidated rental car facility (conrac) at the Boston Logan International Airport. The project is part of the authority’s fiscal year 2012-2016 comprehensive financial plan of capital improvements.

The airport’s $300 million conrac project aims at enhancing customer service, easing airport roadway and terminal curbside congestion, and replacing rental car diesel buses with alternative fuel buses.

Massport receives no state tax funding.
