According to the Idaho Mountain Express and Guide, Enterprise Rent-A-Car was denied a third request to have the rental car agreements for in-terminal locations re-opened at the Friedman Memorial Airport.

Enterprise had a location at the airport until 2009, when it decided not to extend its last agreement. The Friedman Memorial Airport Authority said that to let the company re-enter the terminal would mean opening the bidding process for all car rental services in the terminal. The authority hasn’t done this since 2006, and reported that with a 27% decrease in enplanements at the airport, re-opening the contracts could equal a reduction in the minimum annual guarantee that the car rental companies pay to the airport.

An Enterprise spokesperson said that it’s unusual to have the same agreement extended so many times, and that it’s only fair to re-open the agreements.
