The Washington Governor Chris Gregoire signed HB 2384, a bill regulating personal vehicle-sharing programs, on March 29 allowing it to go into effect June 7 this year.
The bill requires peer-to-peer companies to provide insurance while a car is in use under the program so that drivers who decide to share their vehicle through a peer-to-peer program will not be dropped from their insurance.

The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration is reminding vehicle owners and drivers, as well as fleet managers, to check for open recalls on their vehicles. Recalls that remain unaddressed are a safety risk, according to the agency.
