On May 13, a pair of 2006 Ferrari F430s from Gotham Dream Cars was heading to the company’s Dream Car Sprint event in East Rutherford, N.J., when the drivers lost control of the vehicles, according to NorthJersey.com. After the first Ferrari driver lost control, then the one behind swerved into the opposite lane, running head-on into 56-year-old motorcyclist Stephen Lenge, killing him at the scene.

Both drivers have been arrested and charged with death by auto, with bail set at $50,000.

East Rutherford Police Chief Larry Minda reported that there have not been issues with the Dream Car Sprint event in the past, and that “it’s been controlled in the parking.” Gotham Dream Cars says that the fatal accident had nothing to do with the event itself.
