According to The Times of Malta, the rent-a-car parking lot at the Malta International Airport (MIA) was blocked off to prevent cars from entering the lot on July 2.

The Rent-A-Car Association (RACA) did not update its contract with MIA when it expired in March — nor after the airport extended the contract until July 1 — after a disagreement with the airport. MIA wanted the fee that car companies pay for each of the 182 parking spaces in the lot to increase, but an agreement could not be reached.
