Enterprise is part of a lawsuit filed in Arizona in an attempt to end a tax on car rental companies that was implemented in 2005 in order to help pay for the Cardinal's football stadium, according to the Verde Independent. Attorneys from the car rental companies that have filed the suit are arguing that the tax unfairly targets residents of other states, and that this interferes with interstate commerce.

The state is already fighting a similar lawsuit that was filed in 2010, said spokesperson for the Arizona Attorney General’s office, Amy Rezzonico. Rezzonico reported that the state’s Attorney General’s office believes the  tax is legal.
