The Hertz Corp. announced Sept. 27 the addition of 103 Hertz Local Edition locations since its last announcement in the second quarter

Hertz’s neighborhood market network was approximately 2,350 after adding 150 stores in the second quarter — the most the company has opened in a single period. According to the newest announcement, the 103 stores that have been added since July bring Hertz’s neighborhood market network to 2,390 locations. “We continually evaluate the effectiveness of our locations and, unfortunately, may close locations that are not performing well,” said Paula Rivera, Hertz manager of public affairs.

The new openings are located in California, Colorado, Florida, Georgia, Illinois, Maryland, Michigan, Missouri, Nebraska, Nevada, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New York, North Carolina, Oklahoma, Oregon, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, Tennessee, Texas, Virginia and Washington.

The expansion is part of a company-wide strategy to accelerate expansion in the off-airport, neighborhood car rental market servicing replacement, leisure and business customers.
