According to Duke Today, the campus’ car sharing program, WeDuke, has reached nearly 1,200 members, a growth of about 400 since the end of the 2011-2012 school year.

With 16 WeCars spread across East, Central and West campuses, students are able to run errands or travel around the city while saving money on insurance and gas, according to Brian Williams, Duke's transportation demand management coordinator.

Students have the options of driving a Chevrolet Traverse, Chevrolet Malibu and the Chevrolet Volt.

Duke community members can register for WeCar online or in person during weekly events held on the Plaza with a credit card and valid driver’s license. WeCar Rentals cost $8 to $10 an hour or $66 to $72 per day, and the $35 annual fee is waived for Duke community members.
