According to TechCrunch.com, Zipcar CEO Scott Griffith revealed features for the company’s future smartphone app updates at the CTIA Mobile Con keynote on Oct. 9.

The app will serve as an in-car assistant providing a “digital co-pilot” and trip feedback including damage and car conditions. Users will also be able to sync their iTunes playlist in the car.

Griffith also said that Zipcar is creating its own in-car device holder, so that users can plug in and have their devices ready to use hands-free for navigation, damage reporting and more. As well, Zipcar users will no longer have to sign up by going to a Zipcar office by uploading their driver’s license to the app.
