The Hertz Corp. partnered with Mission Electric, an outreach campaign co-founded by the city governments of New York, Boston and Philadelphia, to allow New Yorkers to vote on which neighborhoods should receive new electric vehicles (EVs) to rent.

Voting opened on Oct. 24 at http://missionelectric.org and will continue throughout the next month.

Based on the results, the most popular locations will each receive a Hertz On Demand EV to rent by the hour or day.

Possible locations in New York City include Hertz Garment District, Hertz Long Island City, Hertz Williamsburg, Hertz Union Square, Hertz Upper East Side, Hertz Columbus Circle and Hertz Midtown East.

Mission Electric is funded by a Department of Energy Grand led by Empire Clean Cities .
